User swears they did not do it. Was able to retrieve using "Recover Deleted Items" but user is concerned.

What could be causing this? Server setting/outlook setting?

Checked users profile  - Empty deleted items when exiting is not ticked, neither is autoarchive enabled.
And no rules doing this.

It can be a mail profile error.

Have you tried to rebuild the mail profile?

Thanks Jackie man.

Its only happened once - Im not 100% convinced its not user error at the moment. But no, not tried that yet. Is there any indication that its this or is it a case of try it and see what happens?

Logon to owa and see whether the deleted items are in the recycle bin there.

Also check whether the user is using cached Exchange mode or online mode.
