So today I had the wise idea to try to do an in place upgrade of a Windows 2012 server to R2 by simply mounting the ISO image. &nbsp;I somehow assumed that it would copy all necessary files local to the HD it needed. Well guess what? After the first restart it never came back online ( I did via logmein remotely to the data center to boot). &nbsp;I assume it is looking for a real physical drive on the virtual path previously mounted?<br />

Windows Server 2012 is the server version of Windows 8 and the successor to Windows Server 2008 R2. Windows Server 2012 is the first version of Windows Server to have no support for Itanium-based computers since Windows NT 4.0.
