Running Office 2010, Exchange 2010 on Windows 10 machine.  Outlook is working fine but when I attempt to  "Save & Send" a Word or Excel document as an attachment, I receive a window saying  "the file c:\users\xxxx\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Outlook\xxxxxxxxxxxx.ost cannot be opened"

Tried repairs Office install, deleting .ost file and letting it create a new one, PC & software fully updated.

Close Outlook, open Control Panel, Mail, and delete the Outlook Profile (this will delete your email account as well).

Now restart the computer, make a new Outlook Account (Profile) and test again.

If this does not work, make a new, test Windows User Profile (Account). Log into the new Windows Account, set up Outlook and test.

I assume from your post this operation is working on other computers.

Deleting the mail Outlook profile did not work.  I logged in to the same machine as a different user, started Outlook and it runs perfectly under that new profile/user.

Not sure what that means?

So the Windows account is damaged. You need to back up any data in it, delete it and create a new Windows account.

This is as I suggested in https:#a41873982
