We are using a MSI 1795 GE72 Apache Pro FTX 960M with a SSD drive running W10 Home, Version 1511, OS Build 10586.633, Core i7, 16GB RAM, 64 bit OS on a x64 Processor.

Box will not accpet updates. Frozen @ 10586.633.

Error code is 0xc1900107

What is I upgraded to Pro? Might that help?

Thank you.

Try this first: Run Windows  troubleshooter

Type Troubleshooting in search box and open it
    Click on View all
    Click on Windows Update
    Follow the troubleshooter instructions

If that doesn't do it, try this:  Reset Windows Update component.

1. Open a Command Prompt as Administrator
2. Stop update related services

net stop bits
net stop wuauserv
net stop appidsvc
net stop cryptsvc

Rename the software distribution folders.

ren %systemroot%\SoftwareDistribution SoftwareDistribution.bak
ren %systemroot%\system32\catroot2 catroot2.bak

Restart services

net start bits
net start wuauserv
net start appidsvc
net start cryptsvc

Restart PC.

It may be just as easy to repair Windows with the Media Creation Link. I have done this numerous times. You can keep everything.

Go to the Media Creation Link

https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10

Click on Upgrade to Windows 10 (even if Windows 10 is running), click on the Download button, select Open (Run) but NOT Save. Allow the program to run. Allow drivers to update. Then select Keep Everything.

I want to thank everyone for the accurate and knowledgeable responses. You guys are like a posse  of experts riding to the rescue.

I have tried each and every suggestion twice. As far as I can ascertain the text and the sequences were spot on the OS reacted as it should. Just could not fix the problem. I am a digital forensics examiner and as such there have been a few 'weird' programs on this machine that could be causing the problem.

After trying all of your suggestions I gave up and attempted a refresh.   That also failed so I am off to MSI land. Depending on what happens there, the next step may be an external wipe and reinstall. However, I would not be surprised to see a new Samsung 500 GB SSD suddenly drop from an Amazon drone into our yard some day soon.

Miracles happen.

Thank you all once more.

Mike
