i need to create an excel drop down list that that is limited

i need to create an excel drop down list that that is limited by another column.

for example, the drop down list would be created from column 2 where column 5 has a value of "RA" but not include entries from column 2 that correspond to a different value in column 5

This can be done but you need to attach an example workbook that shows where the values are stored and what they are. Here's an example that I made for someone else that might help you.
Dependant_DV.xls

If you look at the example in Sheet 3 you will see three lists. Each Column is named according to the header. So in sheet1 when Customer 1 is selected, the options in the second combobox the choices are from that column, using the INDIRECT Function to select that list.

You need to make si9milar lists. If you provide the lists to choose from then I'll help you apply the method.

What does it mean to be "Always On"?

Is your cloud always on? With an Always On cloud you won't have to worry about downtime for maintenance or software application code updates, ensuring that your bottom line isn't affected.

what i am trying to do is not so involved. on the attached file WorkbookTest i want the drop down boxes on sheet 2 to bring in choices from sheet Lots like i have done except only when the variety is the same as sheet2!$A$1  such as '14RD62'.  i want to limit the choices to this variety.

I missed the final reply. If I understand correctly then this will be best with AdvancedFilter, automated with VBA. See attached example

appreciate this solution. just wish it was automated and did not need to run the macro when changes were made to the table.
