i need to create an excel drop down list that that is limited by another column.

for example, the drop down list would be created from column 2 where column 5 has a value of "RA" but not include entries from column 2 that correspond to a different value in column 5

This can be done but you need to attach an example workbook that shows where the values are stored and what they are. Here's an example that I made for someone else that might help you.

what i am needing is on sheet 2 of Dependant_DV2 F2 : F6 except i only want customers where column c='as'
Dependant_DV2.xls
If you look at the example in Sheet 3 you will see three lists. Each Column is named according to the header. So in sheet1 when Customer 1 is selected, the options in the second combobox the choices are from that column, using the INDIRECT Function to select that list.

You need to make si9milar lists. If you provide the lists to choose from then I'll help you apply the method.

appreciate this solution. just wish it was automated and did not need to run the macro when changes were made to the table.
