Same with me.  I still prefer something familiar.  If there is no compelling reason to switch to Win 10 why do so.

Currently Win 7 is still supported and programs and drivers works perfectly with Win 7.  You don't need to worry about compatibility issues.

Windows 10. For several legitimate technical reasons, not just "it is comfortable."

Better security (isolated processed, credential storage and kernel separation, etc)

Better support. Windows 7 is in extended support. Windows 10 is in mainstream support.

Newer protocols. SMB3 is better in every way when you have a file server that supports it.

Native support for Azure AD. Even if you don't use O365 or azure, plenty of 3rd party services can authenticate against it, making win10 better for most things today and tomorrow.

SecureBoot

VHDX support

Storage Spaces

Much better UEFI support.

And on and on.

for personal use, win 10 as you do not need to install any video player for most types of video files and you can select the audio track too for the media player of win 10.

for office use, win 7 as integration of old software and hardware is still a problem, esp. the scanner and printer. For win 10, the system is just too intelligent  to search for printers in network and change the found one to be the default printer without asking your consent.

actually i prefer both , depending different scenarios and conditions.

1. if UWP apps are required, go W10.
2. if touchscreen is a must, go W10.
3. if computer is old or for pure traditional Windows applications, go W7.

Windows 7 is on the downslope and Windows 10 works very well. It is quickly picking up market share.

All the applications I have work on Windows 10 Pro 64-bit. I always upgrade my applications and had to do that for Windows 10.

I have upgraded both my machines to Windows 10 and a number of clients as well.

Windows 10 Pro 64-bit is your best choice forward.

i find win10 has been made for touchscreens, to get the marketshare MS was losing there
that part does not bring anything for a pc user - but these are dying out quickly too it seems.

i fins secure boot more of a hindrance than a gain

My new X1 did not come with touch screen to reduce load on the battery. Windows 10 Pro works great without touch but I use a good Bluetooth mouse

Both.  I have a number of computers so I can use both.

Windows 10 for long term support from Microsoft.  This is the way to go for future use.

Windows 7 for applications that won't run properly under Windows 10 and I do have some.  This computer won't be exposed to email and will have limited Internet connection.
