Hi everyone,
Im trying to run a reclamation on my windows TSM 6.4:
1-
VWARCKDSTSM01>reclaim stg CKD_TAPE duration=120
ANR3638W Space reclamation skipped volume CKD011L5 because the spanned volume CKD009L5 in storage pool CKD_TAPE is inaccessible.

2-
So i updated the status of CKD009L5:
tsm: VWARCKDSTSM01>update vol CKD009L5 access=reado
ANR2207I Volume CKD009L5 updated.

3-
Then i tried to run a move data from the tape:
move data CKD009L5
ANR2232W This command will move all of the data stored on volume CKD009L5 to other volumes within the same storage pool; the data will be inaccessible to users until the operation completes.
Do you wish to proceed? (Yes (Y)/No (N)) y
ANR2410E MOVE DATA: Unable to access volume CKD009L5 - access mode is set to "unavailable".
ANS8001I Return code 14.

4-
So i updated the status of CKD009L5 again:
tsm: VWARCKDSTSM01>update vol CKD009L5 access=reado
ANR2207I Volume CKD009L5 updated.

5-i ran the expiration again:
tsm: VWARCKDSTSM01>reclaim stg CKD_TAPE duration=120
ANR3638W Space reclamation skipped volume CKD011L5 because the spanned volume CKD009L5 in storage pool CKD_TAPE is inaccessible.
ANR2111W RECLAIM STGPOOL: There is no data to process for CKD_TAPE.
ANS8001I Return code 11.

And finally if i run a libvol , the tape CKD011L5 is not present. :

tsm: VWARCKDSTSM01>q libvol

A tape must of course be present in the library to be useable for reclamation. So all you can do is search all your vaults (and the library slots!) for the missing volume. Once you found it, after physically reinserting it into the library,  a"CHKIN LIBVOL" must be run to make the tape available to TSM.
To make it very clear: You must have the tape or cartridge physically at hand before any further action can be performed!

Wool,
Thanks as usual. The tape was on the safebox.
