SQL Mirror and Replication
We currently use SQL SERVER 2012 standard edition and have a database which we mirror to another instance of SQL SERVER which has automatic fail-over. Can we have SQL SERVER replication working alongside mirroring and if so how does it function and does it have constraints? Thank you for your help.

Yes you can.
DB Mirroring and Replication are used for High availabilty. One can set up replication on mirrored publishing databases. It is supported. MS URL to read more <<https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms151799(v=sql.110).aspx>>
Mirroring give us more reliable source of data for running replication. If the main server fails and the mirror server takes over. Replication can be configured to continue running from the mirror server. It makes replication more reliable since we have mirrored databases.
