Suppose you have virtual server myfoo_https set up such that it load balances
https://myfoo.com fine to https://foo1.myfoo.com and https://foo2.myfoo.com.

Now in the event that someone on the interwebs types in http://myfool.com
you want this traffic to get redirected to https://myfoo.com and on to one
of the up foos. Is this possible and what's the mojo?

Absolutely you can..

You set up another virtual server for port 80, and you can configure it to automatically send a 302 response with the redirected path.
