Ipad question

Hi there,

A software upgrade kicked in on a users' Ipad a few months ago. After the reboot the users was prompted to enter the apple ID at  the Activation Lock screen, the user does not remember the apple ID nor security question answers to reset it. I know in past with older Ipads i was able to reset it and connect to itunes but it seems to me that functions is no longer available with the new ios. Since the unit was associated with an icloud account it can't be reconfigured until it's removed from the account. Of course it's a catch 22 because she does not remember the icloud credentials.

Is there a way around this? I'd have to believe nothing can be done about it.

Thanks in advanced.

Hi Jorge,

This shouldn't be that hard to work it out with apple support.

They will ask for the phone number tied to that apple account and if they are not successful you can provide them with the device serial number which they will definitely be able to find the account.

Assuming that once the apple ID email is found she has access to that particular email account she will be able to verify the apple ID and reset the password on it.

Best of luck

Thanks! that was easy, we still had to guess on some security questions but we also used the credit card on file as verification.
