Acronis True Image HD

I purchased a new 2TB SSD drive and want to replace my current 250G SSD drive.
It came with Acronis Software and I have watched Videos on how to use it.
One question remains.  When I restore the backup to the new drive will the full 2TB be available.

Yes: https://kb.acronis.com/content/56634
It can clone to a bigger disk, automatically resizing the partitions proportionally. It is even possible to clone to to a smaller disk, as long as the smaller disk has enough capacity to fit the contents of the larger disk. This is also true of other top quality cloning software, such as Casper. Regards, Joe

So do I do a backup to a external drive, replace the drive and do a restore.
Or do I clone to a external drive and clone back ?

Connect the new drive to the computer however you want...enclosure...dock...adapter...whatever. Then use Acronis (or Casper or any other top quality tool) to CLONE to the new drive. Then remove the old SSD and put in the new one. That should do it.
