The VM is connected to a virtual switch. &nbsp;That virtual switch is connected to a PHYSICAL network interface - the LAN (cable) or the Wifi (wireless). &nbsp;If it works at the office, then it's the LAN (cable). &nbsp;If you want it to work while traveling, go into the switch settings and change the ethernet adapter connected to the switch to the wireless.

I have a laptop that has LAN and also WIFI.<br />
I have installed on it Hyper-V (Windows 10 Pro)<br />
I have some VM's that I work with (they are on removable HDD).<br />
When I am in the office and hooked to the LAN I have no problem having my VM's accessing the &quot;outside world&quot; and therefore get also internet access.<br />
My problem is that when I am travelling and mainly in hotels or offices when I am only given WIFI access, I can't seem to get my VM's have connection to the Internet.<br />

Internet access from Within Hyper-V VM when host has no LAN

Hyper-V is a native hypervisor; it can create virtual machines on x86-64 systems and supersedes Windows Virtual PC as the hardware virtualization component of the client editions of Windows NT. A server computer running Hyper-V can be configured to expose individual virtual machines to one or more networks. Hyper-V Server supports remote access via Remote Desktop Connection.
