.Archival requirements
You will need to define the requirements from the business running on that particular database - how long do you need to keep the backups from legal point of view
.Synchronization with database checks
frequency/schedule of your database backups but again that is driven usually by the business in terms of what's the max allowable data loss
.Available secure storage location
where do you keep them
.Hardware required for restoring backups
should be similar to your production or wherever the backup was taken from and at least the same amount of disk space
.Completeness of backups
must be sure they don't fail
