Need to build a new server.  So which is better 2008 vs 2012

We have to build a new Citrix server.   We currently have a Hyper-V VM 2008 R2 that was built but never used.  The reason I'm asking is because the DVD is not in the drive for 2012 R2 and I'd have to send my assistant to the office to put it in the drive.  So would using the 2008 R2 be ok, or should I build 2012?

Server 2016 is out, so I would not install 2008 R2 anymore. Go with Server 2012 R2.

Also Mainstream Support ended  for Windows Server 2008 R2 on 1/13/2015.
