A friend of mine is receiving unwanted messages on Facebook, email, and text. It's a Facebook friend probably. Can you help us find out who is messaging us?'

It looks like this person's been hacked. She's receiving random, weird messages from many friends. The IP address show's Kansas City. All of her passwords to all accounts changed at once.
If their passwords changed, I would say the hack idea is most likely. Change the email password, make sure the settings for "forgot my password" are still valid. As for who did it, you probably won't have much figuring that out. If a Windows machine is involved in this, be sure to download malware bytes and scan the system. You could try contacting their service provider and Facebook to see if they can help, but they don't usually release information about hacking without a police warrant.

We changed all our passwords and disconnected our phone numbers from our accounts after running malware. The texts still come. They seem random and the emails contain a lot of gobblygook. We called Verizon. No help. Can you tell us what else to do?
Unfortunately you can't do much about the texts yourself. I am surprised you cell carrier can't help. I would tell them you are being harassed and ask them if they can help stop it.
Emails might be easier. You should be able to either block the sender, which is the best solution, or create a rule that will automatically delete the email.

Have anyone ever heard of SS7 flaw hacking? I'd like to know if that's the attack so that we can call the phone company again. Anything you can do to help, this woman is really scared.
