Making calls on Wi-Fi

I am on Vodafone UK with a iPhone 6 on iOS 10.

I'll be travelling in an area with no cell coverage, however there is local Wi-Fi.

I'd like to make a call to a UK number (it's a conference bridge, so not on WhatsApp or anything).

How can I do this?

Using Skype I can call a standard landline based number that is not on Skype?
Hi,

Wi-Fi calling is available on Vodafone on devices purchased through Vodafone but it is dependant on your tarriff and device. Please see here:

https://www.vodafone.co.uk/explore/network/network-improvements/wi-fi-calling/

iphone 6 isn't supported, only iPhone 6s, 6s Plus and SE - is your device a 6s rather than a 6 - if so, you might be in luck.

Therefore your alternative is to use something like Skype and pay for airtime (quite cheap and via PayPal - you can even buy a landline number) or look at an alternative, 3rd party Voice over IP service with an associated application on your phone.
