If you're looking to do a postcode lookup, you need access to the PAF database from the Royal Mail or use a webservice on the Internet that can do the lookup for you.

Postcode areas are not a set size. They're a division that holds a "number of addresses". Population density in a built up area could be very high for a given postcode, so the postcode area could be very small, whereas rural areas will be bigger.

Thanks for your answer Lee, I understand that each postcode can have number of addresses. Does the same applies to the Lat/Longs?
Can a postcode have number of Lat/Longs or is it one-to-one relationship between postcodes and lat/longs?

There is no direct relationship between lat/long and a postcode. Lat/long points exist across the entire globe. If you pick a lat/long point on the UK map, there will be a postcode there. Check the map here:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Postcodes_in_the_United_Kingdom

You can see each postcode area for the UK but there could be more than one lat/long point in it.

Every lat/long point in the UK will have a postcode under it, but not every postcode is a single lat/long point. They aren't related.
