Fastest SSD
How do I determine the fastest solid state hard drive that I can get for my PC? Are all SSDs similar?

jhyiesla, you stated 2.5 Inch only, but the fastest are M.2 and PCIe / AIC, upto 5 time faster. Because they don't use 6Gb/s SATA limits. But you can buy 2 smaller 2.5 Inch SSDs, instead bigger one and make raid0. If you motherboard supports it, you should be able double the speed.

No.
Probably the Samsung 850 EVO is the pick at the moment. There are probably drives faster than that but this one seems to be on top of most charts.

Thank you for all your comments as they have been useful. It raises another related thought. Sometimes some computers have SSD for the primary drive and then a spinning hard drive for the data. In my opinion I think that many programs constantly access data so that it slows down the overall performance. It would seem beneficial just to only have an SSD for maximum performance. Your thoughts?
