Try adding a negative z-index to your wrapper div.
    <div class="content" id="wrapper" style="position:absolute;z-index:-500" >
        <img id="img1" class="background" src="../pict/ID-10028343.jpg" style="height:780px;width:1220px;border-width:0px;" />
    </div>

Open in new window

Personally, I'd prefer to do away with the wrapper div and assign the image as the background-image to the container div.
    <div class="container" style="background:url('../pict/ID-10028343.jpg') no-repeat left top;">

Did you find the answer to your last question? I see you've added background-size properties.
