it's just not stopping.
You need to mark them as spam so Yahoo will filter them for you.

I'm receiving 1000's of emails now and marking them but it doesn't stop.
Not much you can do. And on some of these spam email if you actually click on the unsubscribe link, you get flagged as a live one and end up getting even more spam. So your best bet is to report as spam from within your email client.
Yahoo mail is poor on spam filter, Seriously, the best thing you can do is switch to an email service with a real spam filter. It takes 5 mins to switch from Yahoo to Gmail.
The following article contains some steps which you can follow to prevent some spam mails in future.

Yes, the thing that I was under attack for a couple of hours receiving thousands of emails.
It means someone or something could be signing you up for a large number of subscriptions. At some point, look at the vendors and links, then see whether they are legit. If it's somewhere large, like a well respected magazine (I'll pick Time), then unsubscribe if you've been subscribed. Otherwise, you may just ignore if it is solely verification. Others, you're going to find there is now an account tied to your email address. Reset and delete those.

I'm deleting some many email and creating spam profiles, it doesn't help. I think I need to close that email account.

I would also recommend you change your password and security questions. Sometimes what will come into play is an unauthorized access (given Yahoo's history of reporting security incidents, it is definitely worth doing)

Still doesn't help. 1000's of emails almost everyday. with the spam filters i managed to reduced it, but still can't work with that account.

It's for a clients thankfully she has a gmail account and now will switch to the gmail as primary I just couldn't believe that such a major email provider as yahoo will have a non functional useless spam filter .
Agreed. Gmail has a far far better mail filter. I'm sure other providers do as well. Maybe Yahoo will eventually improve their filters.

There is no real solution for this.
