IE 11 crashes with BEX

For the past couple of months, IE11 on a Windows 7 Professional SP-1 platform has crashed occasionally.  I've tried modifying the Advanced System Properties, by excluding Iexplore.exe from Data Execution Prevention, but it didn't resolve the issue.  Here are the details of the error report:

Go to IE, Tools, Internet Options, Advanced and do a full Reset. This removes all saved items including passwords.

Exit but do not restart (it tells you should).

Go to Control Panel, Programs and Features, Windows Features. Remove (uncheck) IE.  Close out and now restart.

Go back to Control Panel, Programs and Features, Windows Features, and Add back IE. Close out and restart again. You must restart.

Now test and see if it is working properly.

Thank you John.  I may need a few days before posting back, because the problem is intermittent.
The BEX crash does not occur all the time. I have seen it before. But my steps above fix it (or lengthens out the interval between errors). So please let us know.

I will definitely post back.  However, I'd like to be as confident as reasonably possible about the outcome, before publishing.
That error is not 100% unavoidable in Windows 7, 8, 8.1 and 10. I have reset IE 11 several times to prevent the error most of the time.

So far, it appears only Edge on Windows 10 does not get the error.

Sorry to report, the BEX crash just happened a moment ago.

Thank you.  Re-installing Windows would require weeks of work to re-configure this system, so I think I'll try to live with the issue, for now.

And yes, it is a "stopped working" error, not a crash.
Thank you for the follow up note. Post again if we can help.
