change EXCH2013 protocol

Hi Experts,

my migration from EX2007 to EX2013 is done now.
All Mailboxes and Public Folders are located and accessed on the the new EX2013.

On a training I have heared it is better to change the protocol from RPC to HTTPS/MAPI.
Can you help me to make the change ?
Can I do it in working hours ?
What about the clients ? Do they notice the change ? Do they have to restart OUTLOOK ?

Ok, thanks.
We have a lot of old clients OUTLOOK2007.
Is it wise to switch over to MAPI/HTTPS ?
Benefits of MAPI over HTTP
MAPI over HTTP offers the following benefits to clients that support it:
  1. Enables future innovation in authentication by using an HTTP based protocol.
  2. Provides faster reconnection times after a communications break because only TCP connections—not RPC connections—need to be rebuilt. Examples of a communication break include:
  3. Device hibernation
  4. Changing from a wired network to a wireless or cellular network
  5. Offers a session context that is not dependent on the connection. The server maintains the session context for a configurable period of time—even if the user changes networks.
OK Sunil,
I have read the benefits.
But is it also better when I use many 2007 OUTLOOK clients ?
Since MS is currently providing extended support of Outlook 2007 clients till Oct-2017, you can start preparing your clients to latest Outlook version as well as the protocol. Also the RPC/HTTP  is not more available in Exchange 2016.
can I change it with this commands ?

set-organizationconfig -MapiHTTPEnabled $true
