t-sql sp_addlinkedserver possible risks
Hello Experts,
I have been away from working this deeply with SQL for a number of years and I am possibly being a bit too nervous about creating the linked server.
I am using MS SQL 2016 and it gives an easy graphical process to create the linked server.
The problem I am experiencing is if I create this link could it cause issues with the live servers and databases I am linking?
Thanks,
Infosec36

Do a search on possible issues with linked servers first. They're easy to set up, but like anything else, they have pros and cons. Performance is usually the biggest "con". I'd recommend fully researching them first to determine if/how the "cons" apply to your situation.
