Extract Sent Items from POP account on Ipad

Hi -

I have migrated a client's account to Office 365 Exchange from POP. He exclusively used the Ipad to send and receive emails.
I have setup the old pop account on my pc and downloaded the inbox items which i will then import into his Exchange account. However, being a POP account, the Sent Items are not synced and of course they are locked in the iPad. My client frustratingly only has a Mac and i usually use ITunes linked to a pc to sync an account whose data i need to extract from an Ipad.

I am not certain of what tools i can use on a mac to deal with this issue? i Cant afford to lose the sent items on the iPad so i need to be careful on not wiping items by accident.

Any tips would be most welcome!

Thanks

It is a tedious job. Try the following.

1. Created my iCloud email address (because I had not done that yet) and signed into iCloud under settings on the user's iPad.

2. Enabled the email for iCloud syncing which created the iCloud folder on the iPad.

3. Move all of the sent emails of the POP account onto my iCloud email account, which automatically uploaded them to iCloud.

4. Setup the original email account as IMAP account in iPad and move back the sent emails from iCloud account.

Hi Jackman  - This looks longwinded.

I think i may have found a solution. On the iPad , go to the sent items of the POP account , edit and select MOVE ALL. Move all sent items to inbox. Download the inbox items onto pc and then reorder them from the inbox and copy them to the exchange mailbox.
I have tested this with my iPad with 150 messages. I am hoping this will work with many more messages. About to find out and will let you know.

Thanks

Hi Jackman - this solution only partially works - not all messages are moved and i made a mistake thinking it was his iPad but in fact its his iphone that has all messages locked up and settings appear slightly different.
Looks like its back to square one. On the suggestion you made, could you suggest what you mean in step 3?
Is this the same thing i was trying to do in MOVE. On his iPhone he doesn't appear to have the option to move ALL , and he has over 2000+ sent messages on iphone so i am not sure its because of a limitation in the number of emails. He can only mark all for flagging or individually check each one and move them....
I had great luck with this tool:
http://www.imactools.com/iphonebackupviewer/
It lets you extract stuff from an iTunes backup file of the device.

Hi Davis - I know this tool and unfortunately it wasn't helpful because it doesn't give access to emails for some odd reason.
Yeah; I dug in a little more and POP mail is not in the backup....
This article says you need to add an IMAP account to the phone, move the messages you want to it, wait for it to finish syncing, and then you can access them on another PC/device:

You see, moving is part of the problem. The client has managed to accumulate over 17000 emails in his sent items so it will be a nightmare to move them - i dont think the iphone memory couldn't even handle it..
Am in quite a pickle!

Hi Kyle - Despite the best efforts of the contributors , i have tried all options and still have no resolution. I think i will need to close this question again for now and hope a solution comes my way by some other pathway.
