toshiba blu-ray player app stopped working

I have a Qosmio X870 laptop with blu-ray player,  using toshiba blu-ray disk player,

doesn't seem to do anything now,  tried multiple discs, and reinstalling it, updated to latest version.

at the start of this it didn't allow me to pick resume fora disk i previously had in the drive for days that i was in a the middle of watching

windows media player wont play them either.

I believe i'm missing a codec or something,   this happened before,  i believe i reinstalled a microsoft visual c++ program the last time to make it work?

any ideas?

Nobus,  it's in device manager and says its installed fine,  ( it's not the drive itself, as i can view each file on the discs I've tried, it won't play in the app)

William,

I tried all the updates, even uninstalled and reinstalled it,  rebooted computer,  nothing,  it can control the eject in the app, inserting the disc opens the app but then shortly later it show the stop symbol and i can't get it to play..  no errors.

those links don't work correctly either, just to the main page, but nothing specific, i only see everything for updates..
