How to create virtual printer while installing my application

Objective

We are building application, in that we are generating reports using quick reports(Delphi). After installing app in client system if printer/s is not configured then our print option is not working. So, Is there anyway that we can create dummy/ virtual printers while installing my application.

Required solution

Now we are up to build a virtual printer for the clients to enable them use our printer options by print command on their local machine.

this shouldn't be part of your installation
if there is no printer installed, don't enable the printing option
the first printer setup in a system is the default printer

with new laptops some companies don't provide a default printer
and then they'll have a lot of hassle with removing your "virtual" printer

why not check during installation
and give a warning

or make having a printer installed a mandatory option for your installation

your virtual printer option will cause you more problems than it will solve

ASKER

Thank you for the information.

In our case we are using quick reports, to generate reports we have to configure/ verify printers in client machines.
If there is any way that while installing my application virtual printer needs to configure, if user already installed then don't required to install.

If there is anyway please help me.
delphi gives an error when there is no default printer

if you install your own virtual printer, then your client might have trouble uninstalling or removing it

why not look for a pdf printer and add it to your installation ?
you could set it as optional

and it gives your client the extra of printing to pdf
