outlook 2010 - opened an archive .pst file and the search function of "ext:pdf" is not working...
I needed to find some emails from an old employee who had configured his PC for POP and Outlook. All his mail was being downloaded to a .pst file and never saved on the server.
So the only copy of his mail I have is the .pst file. We are able to open this file from Outlook 2010 client and it states that all indexing has been completed.
When I try to use the "EXT:pdf" search function to find all messages with a .pdf attachment Outlook tells me there are none, however when I click through his inbox I can see several without even looking hard.
What do I need to do so I can search on file extensions?

Is it possible that Indexing is not completed yet? You can check this by clicking into seach box in Outlook and clicking the Search Tools -> Indexing Status...

When I checked that is stated 0 messages left to index. Last night when I checked it, it showed thousands of messages left to index. I have confidence the index completed.
