Unfortunately, I don't know of any way to have Visio present the Gantt chart using fiscal years instead of calendar years. However, like most things in Visio, there is a way around it by making manual changes to the ShapeSheet for various subshapes within the Gantt chart. For example, I fiddled with the formula to change the "Qn" display with this result:User generated image Now the quarters are correct but it will be necessary to find a way to change the formulas for the displayed year.

The other issue is that the Gantt chart wizard might very well overwrite these manual changes if you add tasks or make other changes to the chart. I don't know for certain whether this will happen, but based on my experience with other built-in wizards in Visio, it certainly could.

The bottom line is that the change you're looking for can be done but it will require a fair amount of "power user" type knowledge to edit the ShapeSheet for multiple parts of a Gantt chart. And you might need to make the same changes more than once.

A final thought: it is possible to write a Visio macro to make the required changes to the Gantt chart, but that would require Visio programming knowledge.
Was the information I provided above helpful? Would you like more information about either manually modifying the Gantt chart to show fiscal quarters or writing a macro to make the changes?
