Sharepoint 2010 Audit Logs
I have one main site collection and enabled auditing in the collection so I can collect audit information on access to subsites. I do see data being collecting in the reports but not seeing the information that I am looking for i.e: the name of the user viewing the page or making the change and only need the auditing really for one site under my site collection and think I just need to manually filter the report.
I have also checked the dbo.auditdata log in each of my content DB's and do see data present with current time stamps.
Why am I not seeing the name of the user who made the change and also when I try to save the report it is not listing the new nested document library location i created. It is only letting me select the default items listed.

if it make any difference the site I want to audit was an old MOSS2007 site which used to be its own stand-alone site but later moved in the the sharepoint 2010 environment. Is it possible the old Site Collection settings carried over?

We I am slowing working through this and figuring things out. I took care of the document save location issue. But still do not under how this site is a collection and under the same name space as other sites. Also how do I get the canned reports to list the user "name" who made changes to a document or viewed a site.
Please refer to below earlier threads to track if the users have read documents Sharepoint 2010 Document Center as well as tracking all changes made to a document on SharePoint 2010:

I reviewed the links you post and in my Site Collection I have all items selected for auditing and it is collecting information but not see the names of user you viewed and or changed a document. I only see that I change was made

This may be what I am looking for... http://www.fivenumber.com/sharepoint-hit-counter-web-part/
How hard would it be to implement this for one collection?
What do you think?

I have been doing research and the web anayltics reports may be able to list the names of user you view a site. The problem is the site I need to audit was an old 2007 site and the UI was never upgraded to 2010 and so the site web analytics link is not available.. UGH
I just can't get a break

Does anyone have any thoughts on this please??

I wanted to thank everyone for their help with this. I was able to get the content viewing report to work and show the information I needed.

Also I just noticed the site which I want to enable auditing on does appear to be a site collection which confuses me since it shares the same names space as the rest of the site i.e: sharepoint.domain.com/site
Also when I try to save the report it does not let me browser to the nested document library location I created and only shows top level items? Why is this?
