What's a smart switch - netgear

I was looking at these Netgear switches (ie here) and noticed they talk about smart unmanaged swtiches.  What makes these switches smart.  I basically want to just simply connect up all the computers and then plug in the connectivity same as plug n play.  Is that what this is?  Also, do any of these type of switches require any config when it comes to POE?  I figure not as they are "unmanaged"
