I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

So now when you want to use Data files you have to create below-

0. Container
1. Policy on a container
2. Policy will have a SAS Key

what's the mean - container and SAS key

In simple term Containers is a collection blobs. Consider blob as the storgae mechanism in microsoft Azure. Files (Data/Log) will use the containers for storage.

When you create a policy on the container will generates a SAS key. You need this to pass this to the SQL SERVER to access the blob files in the container. In simple terms consider this as the password to access the blob files in the container.

So container is a collection of blobs<<Internally files>> So to access these files you to create a policy. This policy will have a secret key called SAS.

E.g below -

SECRET = 'Pawan'   <<SAS Key>>

Note - Before above you should have Azure Storage Container.

Hope it helps !
