OS drives in an array

I have recently had to replace the mirrored OS drives in a 36 drive array.  Wii re-introducing the drives back into an array after reconfiguring the LSI-S3108 controller create data loss?

1.  Original problem was drives "needed" by customer for failure x2.  This is a dark site and there were no smart hands to do diagnosis.
2.  Smart hands replaced both drives, system started up and the tech was released.
New drives needed to be configured (not smart hands responsibility).  Customer unable to do.  Wanted a new controller.
3.  Sent new controller.  System came up again.  Figuring that the initial drive were still good, customer had smart hands re-insert first drives (see 1).
4.  Everything comes up and drives are seen by both system and LSI card, however customer can't (won't) reconfigure VD).  His only question (as we'll have someone do it for them) is whether or not they'll lose data when they reconfigure the OS drives that were in the machine originally.

Thank you,
Jim

I did some searching and could not specifically find the info on an LSI-S3108, but this ACO from SuperMicro appears to be the same thing. Page 4-10 shows it does support viewing and importing the foreign configuration (if is sees one). If it does not see the foreign disk, the OS data is probably gone.

Thank you.  We responded to the customer with this information and they understand they will likely need to reload the OS after VD is recreated.  Thank you, Jim
