Recover mailbox from ost when "The action cannot be completed".
I have a win 2008 sbs that has been compromised and most files are encrypted. The server has been shut down and it is not an option to start and repair. I have installed a new sbs2008 on a 2012r2 Hyper-V server.
It has the same domain name and Ip as the corrupted one. That means that if I start the Outlook with all the cashed email it will sync and all the emails will be lost.
When I do what I have done before many times in Outlook 2007 I go to "File" "Import/Export" I get the above message in the lower right corner for 5 seconds. (The action cannot be completed. The connection to Microsoft exchange is unavailable outlook must be online or connected to complete this action)
As described above I cannot connect to the old server and if I connect to the new all will be gone. I know because I tested. I have another laptop that still is not connected so I see all the emails that is lost on the old 2007 exchange sp3.
Why do I get this message and how do I go about to save the data on the last computer?

The obvious way to go about this problem is Thru a converter. That i did not have to ask this forum.
My question though is why Outlook denies me to do it the built in way?
There are 3 ost files and 3 mailboxes on different computers that suddenly has been corrupt according to some suggestions. This has no logical explanation. I do thank thoose who took the time to answer anyway.
