Determine what users accessed a directory or file in that directory?

Hi,

We have a process to monitor our server uptime.  Essentially we place trigger files in a directory when our app is loading.  That tells this monitoring software to skip that application as it has a process running.  So we don't get a false positive.  In order for this process to work we have to grant 'Everyone' full access to the directory on the server.  When we take that away the monitoring software fails as it's unable to access the directory to look for the trigger files that may exist.   The people who run the monitoring software (UIM) don't understand us when we ask for the user account they are using to do this.  We want to apply security to that user account rather than have 'Everyone' with full access.   So was trying to backdoor it and find the user somehow.

Is this possible?

The 'success' and 'failure' boxes are grayed out.  So I guess the user I logged in with doesn't have permission?   The user is in the 'Administrators' group.

Thanks.  Our IT is going to turn on Auditing to see what users are accessing the folder.
