How to re-name User with Hybrid Exchange Office 365
Hi All,
I started work recently at a network with Hybrid Exchange\Office 365.
I have a user who needs surname changed but not sure how to process this change with Hybrid Exchange.
Current email address is Alice.Brown@acme.com, needs to be changed to Alice.Black@acme.com
I need to add a new email address and make it default, then make sure he can still recieve messages into the old address to.
What I know:
All new users are setup on local AD.
We run Enable-RemoteMailbox command in local Exchange shell to enable Mailbox on Office 365
AD Users are sync'ed with Azure AD Connect v 1.1
Any tips much appreciated!!!.
Cheers

Thanks for your assistance guys.
YES all fine.
Process followed:
ADUC / Rename User
Atrributes Editor / ProxyAddresses
** There was an extra task Needed though:
After ADSync'd to Office 365, I needed to update UserPrincipalName using PS msonline
ie
Set-MsolUserPrincipalName -UserPrincipalName Graeme.smithJones@acme.COM -NewUserPrincipalName Graeme.Jones@acme.COM
Im not sure if this part was manditory, but made everything match.

Follow the steps provided by Vasil, and if you have access to view and manage you recipients in Office 365 then have a look at the user email address, and edit it accordingly as needed.
Thanks
