Then where is the main difference between REST and ?HTTP.
It's a fairly small distinction.
HTTP is just a protocol - it just defines how requests get from your browser to a web server.
REST is a specific recommendation for how to organize those requests.
HTTP has existed from the day the web was first developed.
REST is a relatively new idea for a good way to build web servers and services.
In English, HTTP would be the alphabet and REST would be specific words and phrases that are good ways to use that alphabet.

REST is based on URL which is not very clear. To me even non rest webservice also URL based since we have to hit URL to acccess StockService or WeatherService right?
