How to get rid of bothersome advertisement popup?
Quiet often when I am surfing with Chrome I get a little popup at the right bottom corner of my screen. It advertises a company called Tom''s Hardware. I have tried different ways to get rid of it, but to no avail. Does anybody know what this is and how to stop this nonsense?

Unfortunately I am running Linux Mint 17.3. Any suggestions here?
Sigh.
Check your extensions then. Disable as many as possible and retest and see if the problem goes away.

Does a little gear icon appear when you see this popup? If you click the gear icon it should take you to a place to disable those notifications.
Or you can access this area by following these steps:
Go to Chrome
Settings
Show advanced settings
Privacy > Content settings
Pop-ups > Manage exceptions
Is toms hardware listed in there as 'Allow' ?
If yes, then block it.

Thank you!
You're welcome!
What I do suspect is that you have installed an extension for Chrome that is doing this. Check all of your extensions especially any recently installed.
Also scan your computer with AdwCleaner https://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/adwcleaner/ followed up by MalwareBytes https://www.malwarebytes.com/ (free version).
That hopefully should fix the problem.
