Exchange Outbound Connector for a specific sending Email Address

Hi, I've got an Exchange 2013 Server. Is it possible to create a Send Connector for a specific outbound email address. i.e. The client is sending from emailaddress@domain.com. Can you have a send connector that recognizes emails from emailaddress@domain.com and then sends them out of that connector rather than the usual default.

It seems from what I can see that a Send Connector can only be configured depending on what domain you are sending to, but not what email address "FROM".

What I'm trying to achieve is having a specific email address on the Exchange server to not use the default Internet Send Connector, but rather another one. Sometimes this email account sends out 1000s of emails and I want it to route differently. Thanks!

Thanks, anyone know of a way around that to achieve what I'm trying to do in another way?
I'm thinking about VPN connection between your domain and side (server) you want to send emails to.
If you can set up VPN with permanent IP then you can create connector with option Use Smart Host (put domain name of recipient server on other side VPN - it's going to be their local IP address) then probably this will work.

I did not tested this, it's only an idea.
Hi,

you can create send connector and configure it for specific domain. You cannot configure it for just specific email address, but you can make it for sending email for entire @domain.com.

When configuring send connector, in Scoping --> Address Space, input domain of that email address, and when ever someone sends email to that domain, it will use that connector.

Ivan.

There are several 3rd party softwares out there designed to do just this task. We installed the one from a company called exSBR. It was $499 and allowed us to create a group in Active directory, and then assign that group to use a specific outbound connector to send newsletters to SendGrid. We then added our newsletter user account to the group, and it worked perfectly. A quick google search showed that there are several companies using this same method to sell software to route based on group membership.
