HP Deskjet 2132

I have a new printer HP Deskjet 2132 running on Windows 7.   I can't seem to get it to print.   I reinstalled the driver - it is using HP Deskjet 2130 driver.    The printer seems to be installed ok, as I checked the Device Settings in Windows and there are no errors.   I am able to align the printer cartridges ok and also print out the alignment test page from within Windows so I know there is nothing wrong with the Cable/USB port.  However, when I go to print anything from Word or notepad the print job just sits in the queue (no errors occur).  Any info is appreciated.  Thanks.

thanks for the feedback.  It is set to Default Printer.  I will have to get back in a few days regarding the other suggestions.   Thanks.
The following article might help to resolve print sits in the queue.

Just to clarify regarding the comment on deleting stuck print jobs, I have never got the printer to print from any Windows application other than the HP Software that prompts to align the printer cartridges.  I did install the printer as suggested by only connecting the USB cable when prompted, I will uninstall and reinstall again, however I have tried this quite a few times and as mentioned there is no error in the Windows Devices List so it seems to be installed ok.   The printer is cheap, if I can't get this working soon I might have to look for another model.
you can also test it on another PC - to be sure there's no problem with this PC

still can't get it to work but I think the suggestions covered all the options.  Thanks
Maybe you should return the printer. If you did everything above (including different PC suggested by nobus) then the printer may be defective.
I don't have the ability to test another computer or laptop to test.  It's an old computer used by a friend.  It is time to replace, so I ordered a another one.    As for the printer,  it was a cheap last minute purchase.  I am not that happy with the paper feeder.   I might wind up replacing this as well.  Thanks again.
