Why do I get "media disconnected" when I run ipconfig?
In a command prompt, I type "ipconfig". I get "media disconnected". I tried the following with no result:
For Windows 7, you may try the following commands.
1. Click Start
2. All Programs\Accessories and right click on Command Prompt
3. Select "Run as Administrator" to open a command prompt.
In the command prompt window that opens, type the following commands, each followed by the Enter key:
Reset WINSOCK entries to installation defaults: netsh winsock reset catalog
Reset IPv4 TCP/IP stack to installation defaults. netsh int ipv4 reset reset.log
Reset IPv6 TCP/IP stack to installation defaults. netsh int ipv6 reset reset.log
Reboot the machine. This should help.
Later try to get the IP address, you will get it.
