"C drive" on W7 computer shows only 86.9GB available on 500GB SSD. Folders add up to 88GB and System protection is turned off on C drive,

I'm not sure why there isn't more space available.
This machine is connected to a 2012r2 server running essentials.
There are 3 physical drives
C, D, E
Only E has system protection turned on.
Does system restore on other physical drives get put on C drive

There is 64GB memory on the machine and pagefile is currently 64GB (98GB max)

So if I add the folders size of 88GB and 100GB pagefile (being generous on estimations) it adds up to 188GB, why does this 500GB drive say there is only 86.9GB available?

Restore Points also take up space, and they can take up a lot of it.

It's also entirely possible that the 500 GB drive was not partitioned to a single partition of 500 GB.  Bring up Disk Management and see.

Thanks guys,
Treesize found that Windows\Temp had 180GB. Not sure why it didn't show when I checked the properties of that folder. Also I had previously ran %temp% and got rid of all temp files....I thought.

Anyway I browsed to C"\windows\temp and deleted all the files it would allow me to (after being told initially that I didn't have permission to enter the folder and had to "allow")
