Litigation hold on Exchange 2013
Hello All,
Consider my mailbox is under Litigation hold, If I am shift + deleting some emails from inbox then what will happen to that email, where it will go, either Recover deleted item or "DiscoveryHolds" folder ? or will it reach 'purges' folder and then DiscoveryHolds?
will DiscoveryHolds stores deleted items or modified messages (unlike 'versions' it stores original copy before committing changes)?
Please clarify.
Thanks

Thanks Amit, have seen this article before . so you are telling deleted emails are moved to Purge folder from Deletions(Recover Deleted Items). Then what content will be store in 'DiscoveryHolds' folder?
Normally MRM processes 'Purges' folder then it will purge those emails permanently from Database based on the retention settings right? then how it works when litigation hold is enabled? because once litigation hold is enabled MRM wont process any folders right?
Please correct me if I am wrong.

Yes, it will be under purge folder, however there is 50 GB limit. Once it reaches that limit, then user will not be able to use his or her mailbox anymore. They will see issues, unable to send email or delete email. That time you need to remove the mailbox from in place hold.

Thanks again, actually my question is bi-fold, now I am clear with first part, could you please explain me about "Discoveryholds" folder
thanks
