Sony Laptop Screw
Ive just got a new Sony laptop (second hand to tie me over), and wanted to put an SSD and a memory upgrade in it, but I cannot get into it.
Ive googled the type of screw and cannot find anything.
Any ideas what it is? Seems to be a flathead with a pin in the middle, however a standard flat screw driver doesnt allow much grip to turn

In a quick look around, I do not see these anywhere. Tamper proof screws are today largely TORX with a pin and commercial TORX drivers with a hole to accommodate the pin are readily available.
You will probably have to make your own tool.

Sony actually introduced these wide slot screws to make it easier for end users to open the panels without any special tools! They should fit a small coin or similar.

Good call noxcho :)
I took a standard screwdriver and ground a slot in it with a Dremel Tool.
You can buy such screwdrivers in a good electrical or auto specialty tools shop. Look online perhaps at Amazon.
I found it easy just to make my own tool.
