Recipient domain does not exist in DNS
I had this question after viewing forward email sent to a specific exchange mailbox onto internal Sharepoint email address?.
I have configured the steps suggested and sending a test email to the exchange mailbox with delivery receipt turned on i get the below automatic email as below:
Generating server: server-4.bemta-3.messagela bs.com
info@nai54.at01.azas.org
#< #5.7.0 smtp; 551 5.7.0 recipient domain does not exist in DNS> #SMTP#
I guess I need to add a a new forward lookup domain in DNS for this domain? (info@nai54.at01.azas.org is the new exchange contact email address that the email should forward to) delivery to the exchange mailbox address is successful.
Thanks

Thanks all for your feedback.
i did the suggested test and the email contact address syntax is correct but there is no valid mx resource record
no the internal sharepoint address does not have its own mailbox.
Exchange and sharepoint are located on LAN
Pune Tech - your latest update sounds like what i'm trying to do. im looking into this, not sure where to find/check the target document library at moment.

Sorry about the delay getting back to you - it took some time to find out for sure what it was we needed and what the users were expecting.

While Creating contact object on Exchange Server you must have specified email address which is not valid.
