Removing image backgrounds
I'd like to shoot flower bouquets against a background that I can easily make transparent with Photoshop and then place the new image on any color background I want. The question is, what is the best background to shoot against? White is probably not best because then any white daises in the bouquet would become transparent when I removed white. It seems the background should be a color that's not in the bouquet. Is there a color that's designed so that it can always be removed later, even if there are similar colors in the content, perhaps, a "blue screen," or a special matte?
Thanks for any ideas.

Thanks for the ideas, Serena. I'll look through them. Regarding the camera set up, I'm not the photographer but she generally shoots with an Cannon EOS 70D.
I don't think that there any any 'chemicals' that exist in an image that photoshop could pick up
maybe you are thinking fluorescent painted background that shows under a uv lamp and does not affect what you are shooting...

in my experience, no matter what the background color, there will always be vestiges of it around the outer edges of the image
i have tried lime green background and depending on the subject, but there is still a degree of background in the image
i suggested a light gray since that will probably give you the best result to change to a transparent background, but of course it depends on the image
here is a question i participated about 2 years ago that is basically the same problem:
