Mac Excel column treating text as date

See attachments.  Reference the part number field in the excel screen shot.  When opening .csv files in Excel for Mac, the data is being treated as dates in some cases.  It should be treated as text always.  I have also attached a screen shot of the raw data.  This is a file sent to non technical users, so to have to import and change field types is not going to be easy for them.  Is there some easy method that the part number field is treated as text always?  Btw, this works as expected in Excel Windows and only an issue on Mac Excel.  Thanks for any help in advance.

Does Excel for Mac have the Text Import wizard the same as Excel for Windows?

If so, rather than opening the csv file directly, use the Import Wizard to retrieve the data. In one of the steps you can specify what each column represents. Use this step to specify that the column in question is text.
