Symantec replaced by VEEAM

Hi Experts,

we have decided to change over to VEEAM.
Now we still use SYMANTEC BACKUP EXEC.

Can you help me with a scenario how to do this ?
What is the best way to install and change over ?

I have one problem I think, my Symantec Backup Server is the server with all the disks inside. I have 50TB in this server.
As I know the repository server from VEEAM also need storage where to put all the backups.

there are a few different ways to layout veeam, but let's assume you want to install it on the separate BE server. So install it there as an all in one, setup a backup repository there, then connect to your hypervisor. At this point I'm hoping you have enough room to make at least one full backup with veeam, you might want to pair down your BE backups to make room. Once you have enough veeam backup history, remove BE entirely.

Additionally look at connecting to a resellers veeam cloud connect backend to do copy jobs offsite. You can setup your own repository (your licenses cover multiple repos) in azure or something, but it's usually easier to just use a provider.

Yes I just have my BE Server with all the disks inside.
Can I install VEEAM also on the BE server ?
Assuming it's running on windows server, yes.
have you also tested it and installed both on the same machine ?
