Lenovo C560 will not connect to local or WiFi network

This is W10 Lenovo C560 - machine type 10150 with 4 GB  and an Intel i3 processor.  The W10 is an upgrade from W8.1 and had been working ok for a while after the W10 upgrade.  It will not connect to either to a wired or wireless network.   Here is a summary of what I've done....
- cabled directly to the modem and eliminated the router.  We know that the modem is OK since it connects OK to a different system.  But no connection with the Lenovo
- tried connecting wirelessly to a router - did not work
- uninstalled the wireless driver and controller from the Device manager, rebooted and still did not work
- ran both malwarebytes and a virus engine - did not help
- checked ipconfig /all and found that I see a IP address of 169.xxx.xxx.xxx which I know means no connection

The only message we see is that the system cannot connect because of an incorrect IP address.

Ideas on how to fix will be appreciated.

Tried to comment to "nobus" response but could not see a way to send the comment.   There was NO submit button.  The answer to his question is.....Yes, I did check the device manager and the LAN and WiFi are installed without error.  Please pass this onto him/her.  Thanks.
Tony - finally i got it
there some checks you can do, in order to check if you have hardware problems or not :
run from a live cd, like ubuntu or Knoppix, and test your LAN :  http://www.knopper.net/knoppix-mirrors/index-en.html
you can do a fresh W10 install on a spare drive if you want, with the media creation tool, or repair your system with the w10 iso

nobus, before receiving your reply, I decided to try setting up a static IP address and I can connect via a wired connection to my router.  Does this information suggest a different solution?  Doesn't it suggest that the adapter is OK?  What would be causing the system to not connect via an automatic way?
pprobably a software problem or bug
test it out with the solutions above;  diagnosing and fixing it can take more time - and not Always yields results
Did a System restore and that fixed the problem.  Thanks.
nicee to hear that
if no more help is needed - close this Q plse
I honestly do not know how to easily close a question.  This is part of what I do not like about EE.  There is nothing obvious on the site for closing a question.
ok - i asked a mod to help you out
