It's not a good practice run DC as virtual specially when host computer is part of same domain.<br />
You need to understand that if case of reboot host computer will be online without connection to DC, so you may have some authentication issues.<br />

Maybe is going to be better if you'll promote Host to become DC before you'll decide convert other DC to VM

I am in the process of running some P2V conversations for a client of some older servers from physical hardware onto their VMWare infrastructure. <br />
<br />
They are currently running VMWare 5.5 (moving to 6 shortly)<br />
<br />
Am happy enough moving their app servers over. However, I need to P2V their two Domain Controllers and I want to be sure that I do not break their domain in doing so.<br />
<br />
Any one out there have any tips or tricks or advice?<br />
