iPhones operating through Car system

This might be outside the scope of Experts-Exchange, but I figured I would give it a shot.  I just got a new car that has a Bluetooth connection which allows me to use my iPhone 6 through the car speakers and control panel.   It works fine, except that every time I turn on the car the last Audible e-Book I was "reading" starts playing.   Even if the Audible App isn't open on my phone, the car seems to reach into the phone and starts playing the book.   While I want to continue using the phone-car connection, I don't always want to start listening to a book every time I turn on the car.  Any ideas?

Thanks,

Phil

First thing I'm thinking is there must be some auto-play option toggled on on your app.  Can you find any such thing in the apps settings?

No, but I'll check the manual tomorrow and see if there's anything.  Thanks.
What kind of car do you have?
For example, I have a Ford Fusion and the Bluetooth system it came with is Microsoft SYNC.  This system also allows voice commands for playing audio and making phone calls.  It only plays music when I tell it to play music or open the iPhone music app and start playing it from there.  The Bluetooth connection is automatically made every time I start the car, as long as Bluetooth is on on my iPhone.
